If I understood right I paid my hard earned money to Larry in vain? I don't see the location of the cabaret in the map anywhere! I would only see it if I was a member of an agency? Or do I do sth wrong?

the cabaret is hidden, you wont see it as an icon on the map, but when you paid Larry the money he should have given you the location

all u have to do is take your cursor to where the location is of the Cabaret, and the cursor will turn into a hand when u found the spot. :)

Minataure, he'll tell you something like "located just east of the Detective Shop", in which case you roll your mouse around the area east of the detective shop until your cursor arrow turns into a hand.

Also, as long as you haven't started another case, you can still access the location. However, as soon as you start another case, you can't get to the cabaret without paying Larry again.
