Favors for maps

OK although I think I know the answer already , I would like to ask this question coz either I am a victim of a nasty bug or just ignorant of the process.
Here is the thing . When you are trying to get a favor for a townie for the other half of the map , is there a possibility not to be given the rest of the map after the first successful favor for the townie indicated?

Yes, you must ask that specific townie about the map first before doing the favor for them. I'll shoot you a PM..

it seems that my internet connection had other plans for me so the quest wasn't updated...
anyway , i will keep searching ;)
