I've just had an experience in Cairo and I'm wondering if there's a reason for it that I don't know.

I went into the catacombs yesterday and retrieved an artifact (after being trapped twice).

I then tried to go in again and got popped out to the log in page.

I tried today again and the same thing happens. I still have this "Use your treasure map to explore the catacombs beneath the Great Pyramids.", listed as a mission. I was thinking I had that from doing a favor for one of my contacts, but maybe I'm wrong.

So my questions are -

Question 1:

Is that the mission message you get for doing a favor for one of your contacts?

Question 2:

Why do I get popped out to the log in page?

DId you get your artifact using the artifact map, AND then did cases in Cairo and got a map from your contact? This is the only explanation that is plausible because you cannot carry two maps at any given time.

So if you did the above then it looks like you have a map left from your contacts in Cairo. Try going to redeem your artifact for a certificate and then go back to the catacombs and seeing if you can get in. And yes you are right, the message you got is from doing a favor for you contact in Cairo and not that of the artifact map.

If you still can't then it might be a glitch of some sort that just never took it away from your detective page.

Ok, when I got the artifact I went to get another mission at the university. So is that where I went wrong?

I just felt confused to keep finding myself at the log in page... ?! With no explainations.

To add to the above:

I had both maps at the same time, to start with. I thought I might be lucky and get both at once, but no such luck!!!

I'm not sure how its possible to have two maps at the same time, as that rule was changed quite a while ago where you had to use your first map before you could obtain a second map...hmmm

And when you got the artifact, did you redeem it for a certificate and then get another mission at the University? If so then you'd have something on your bio page saying go find so and so in *blank city*...

I'd PM Admin about this because as far as I know you can't have two maps at the same time...I'll try and find the post about it, course this was before the Univeristy missions were available too so it might be that you CAN have a map from contacts and one from University but NOT two from contacts???

Does what I said just make sense?

Yes I do have this message:
"Finish a favor for the Shoe Maker in Shanghai to complete your map to an artifact in the catacombs beneath the pyramids in Cairo. "

Which came up afte finding the artifact and then going back to the University.

But I had the other message BEFORE I found the artifact.

Hmmm...I dunno what to tell you then...I guess maybe it is from your Cairo contacts...but as for why it brings you back to the login page....I dunno. Maybe its a glitch and really shouldn't be on your detective page anymore (the one message for your Cairo contacts).

You can have two maps, one for the pyramids, one from the university. What exactly your situation is, I'm a bit confused about. However, if you try to get the map for the pyramids AFTER you've got the university one, I've found, the system won't let you. I'm hoping that's your problem. If it's not, again, I'm lost. Sorry. :-/
