Tough skills for a charming detective.

Are the tough skills of any use to a charming detective? I have all the smart & charming skills plus research & lockpicking. There are some other faction skills I am still working toward but am curious if after that it would be useful to get the tough skills?

You can see we have a variety of opinions here. I'm still with the useful side, but truth be told, you truly only need one side, charming or tough, to be really effective as a detective. The other is gravy. Helpful gravy, but gravy. ;-)

see now stress detection is the skill I almost got last. It's just well, I never use it. I've gotten to a point where I just tend to bludgeon my way through suspects only using charm. It would do me no good anyway, my stats are -tough. I suppose that if you were a detective that was using mixed stats eg part charm / part tough you would use it. But I'm not necessarily sure that's a great path to follow.

Hey thats a good point Squirrel. I have both tough and charm skills, and even then I don't use stress detection. I had it with my old detective, and found it very useless to me.

Are y'all talking about Judge of Character? I use Stress Detection all the time - it is after all automatic. At first I thought it was useful, but now that I've tweaked my strategy I honestly think my completion rate would really drop off without it.
Judge of Character, however, meh...

Thanx for all the input! I have Judge of character and I really don't use it much anymore since charm is always higher for me. Is there anything else to do with skill points after I get the other faction skills I want?

LOL well VS was prob talking about SD ;) but yes I was walking about JoC. I 'was' going to embarrass myself further and post all the times over the last couple of years I have gotten these two skills confused, but I figure one bout of stupidity for the say is enough. But I'm glad I dragged someone else down with me though :) thanks Jas. lol.

I've always liked Stress detection, not so much for the suspects but the townies, it's helped me to know when they will want a bribe and or answer one more

I use SD for suspects when hunting for motives and alibis. I try to leave all suspects with at least one question in case I have to resort to WE.

You didn't drag me down with you SS I actually was talking about Stress detection. I have JoC, and LOVE it, So I have no need to for stress detection. It's pointless for me. lol
