Well it never took off over on the AVL site, so Dawg Pound Investigations is proud to announce that we will be holding a tournament. lilangel and myself have been working the past few weeks to get enough teams interested and finally have them together. If all goes well, there will be more tournaments to follow which we will make open to all agencies. Our tournament will begin on Monday, April 14 and will be 4 or 5 rounds. details can be viewed here:

Any questions feel free to PM me. We will also use this thread for any trash talking that the players want to begin with. Let the fun begin! :-D

Is it even technically possible to finish a hunt in 2 days? I smell something fishy here......

Oh, it's possible this is how I did it. Keep in mind I took a travel kit with me the entire trip so right there I saved 4 cases

Shanghai

Quit
IS EAST of the race track
IS NOT The Waitress

Accuse bartender

New York

Travel

IS CLOSE to the river
Quit
Quit
IS NORTH of 34th Street
IS SOUTH of 42nd Street
IS A MAN

accuse bartender again

London

Travel

End of Day 1

IS A MAN
IS NOT CLOSE to the river
IS SOUTH of the detective shop
accuse waiter

Delhi

Podiatrist!

3 cases left

So yes it is possible, even without sidekicks, but as you can see the travel kit is the reason I was able to do it! That can be a topic of discussion for future matches, should the travel kit be allowed since everyone has had the option for them, and also we can revisit if use of apartments should be allowed as we all have access to be able to purchase one. I took the liberty of taking the rules from the original AVL site of Serges, one thing I will keep and it is not open for discussion is there is no use of sidekick cases as not everyone can get them through gameplay.

I don't see a problem with either travel kits or apartments. Everyone can get both of those, so there is really no unfairness there.

Confucious say "One who have good luck, can also screw up."

(And we're not even going to mention Ctown here, that kind of luck is down right disgiusting!!!!!!! Lol! )

I should have (with a decent amount of luck) been able to accuse today.

Recipe For Losing 8 Cases;

Press the "continue hunt" button while meaning to press the "accuse villian".
Now with only 2 cases, and needing 3 cases to travel, go to Cairo to save one case.
On the next day go to Delhi and in Delhi discover you never DID accuse the villian in London.
Go back to London to accuse Bartender.
Go back to Dehi with only 4 cases to use on AVH instead of 12!

Voila! There you have it!

Now go to the mixer and make it, OR not!!!!
(Just have to laugh at my silly mistakes!)

Sorry to confuse everyone. This is Kas, and this is my friend's detective which has become my "alter".

*writes down Kas' recipe*
I'm sure that I will end up using it inadvertently as well in the future. ;)
And I do believe that someone very close to this tournament also has a similar recipe?

I too think that travel kits and apartments should both be ok. Both can be gained through gameplay alone (granted, lots of it). I also agree that sidekick cases should not be allowed since those are not gained through gameplay. Though, what a waste of a perfectly good case!

I ca ntop you there Kas. I once got so excited that I got the final clue that I needed to get to the final city that right after solving the case, didn't bother accusing, just went straight to London! Got to London before I realized I had to go back to NY to accuse and send it to london, but since I had a book to return, I went ahead and returned it and got another book mission! What great luck, I had to ask the Music Teacher in NY about it!

Ther I go, back to NY to accuse. I get there and go see go ole Angela first to get teh book that she has been holding! Well, she went on and on and on about why she forgot to return it that she made me lose track of my thoughts! You guessed it, I went right back to London AGAIN without accusing. So I had to go back to NY, this time I remembered to accuse and then finally to London.

So there you have it, the recipe of how to waste 10 cases on a VH. ;-)

And yes, it was with theis detective!

First of all , gratz Dave for your 2-day hunt!Excellent performance with a bit of luck on the clue part but luck is an essential part of AVH too ;~)

As for me , I got my ass kicked and my mind confused in almost every city except for Delhi (and boy I was surprised!!!!!)

(do you think that the townies can hear me?oooops...I think that's the last last of my AVH days...)

ooops!Almost forgot!Congrats to Aknas and Stormy Day for their captures too:)

Congrats to you as well sir! and of course lets not forget Poirot's Protege' who captured yesterday as well. For some reason she doesn't show up in City News when she captures, maybe the editor of the newspaper has it out for her!

My 2nd hunt isn't going nearly as well, but I' mnot gonna complain.
