Well it never took off over on the AVL site, so Dawg Pound Investigations is proud to announce that we will be holding a tournament. lilangel and myself have been working the past few weeks to get enough teams interested and finally have them together. If all goes well, there will be more tournaments to follow which we will make open to all agencies. Our tournament will begin on Monday, April 14 and will be 4 or 5 rounds. details can be viewed here:

Any questions feel free to PM me. We will also use this thread for any trash talking that the players want to begin with. Let the fun begin! :-D

Nice one Evy and Turtledove! A much needed 3 day 1-2!

It was very kind of Mits' to give our opponents a chance when his mousefinger slipped. Shame they couldn't capitalise... 3 x 5 days... ouch!

;P

Well Boss , it was a plan so cunning that if you put a tail on it you could call it a weasel (tribute to Black Adder;-) but our opponents couldn't take advantage of it :P

Cheer up , happy sleuthing :D!

Hope everyone is having fun so far, Brackets through Round 2 and standings have been updated. It can all be viewed here:

Round 3 will commence on Monday May 5, please PM your team rosters to lilangel or myself.

This is where it gets a little tricky in double elimination folks, The winner of the Shaded Legends Vs IntelLigence Agency match will be off for rounds 4 and 5 while the winner will be off for round 4, this is to allow the losers bracket to catch up.

Again any ideas you would like to see implemented the next time we do this please post them here or PM them to lil or me.

Not much trash talking to far, of course, If I were the Sirens, I wouldn't be talking trash either. They aren't even in from round 2 yet! :-P

Ahh ctown why trash talk when you know you are going to win.. it just doesn't seem right. The Shaded Legends don't have a chance but TIA will play them anyway to give them practice..lol Good luck Shaded Legends. Good luck to all the other players and just hope you don't have to play against TIA.

Btw I like your new avatar ctown.

Some suggestions for next time.

Add a rule that you may only represent one agency in the tournament.

*The current rules prohibit switching while in a match but not between matches.

Agencies give their roster up front for the entire tournament and only have to PM the participants for each match.

On the roster page between rounds each team is being blanked, so it may be just redesigning the web page so that the roster always shows and have a second spot to show the participants in each round.

Sorry, I figure this way, the roster between rounds being blanked out would show that I don't have roster changes for the teams. I do have the original roster on my computer. I can foster it as such, to changing things now for the roster to show the team possibilities and leave the round matchups blank to show who's given their teams if that's what would be clearer.

Ok, now, to poll the participants (past and present) for future tournaments...

--> Roster of 5 to remain the same throughout the entire tournament
OR
--> the entire agency roster (well, those who are able to VH at any given time) to represent throughout the entire tournament but only 3 can play in one given match

I prefer for each agency to nominate a roster up front for the entire period. I don't know that the roster needs to be limited to 5 however.

My main reason for nominating upfront, is to prevent someone being recruited to an agency mid tournament specifically to help out with the tournament.

Worst case scenario is a team being eliminated and then their best player switching agencies for the remainder of the tournament. While I don't think that anyone is planning on doing anything like this, it's best if the rules are clear on the subject upfront, and prevents an uproar mid tourney when someone tries it and states correctly that it's not against the rules.

I agree with V Buster. Not many other competitions don't require a team roster to be decided beforehand. It doesn't have to be (limited to) 5 though.

I also agree and that is a scenario we have looked at, one thing that we are doing, while it is unofficial, is not having our latest recruit, Aunt Pittypat play in the tourney for us, she she was not a member of the agency at the beginning or the tourney. I think everyone will understand that, roster changing between rounds I think is fine as long as the det is back to his/her agency before the next round starts. This allows for dets to visit other agencies to deliver items they would like to trade/donate to other agencies.
