Well it never took off over on the AVL site, so Dawg Pound Investigations is proud to announce that we will be holding a tournament. lilangel and myself have been working the past few weeks to get enough teams interested and finally have them together. If all goes well, there will be more tournaments to follow which we will make open to all agencies. Our tournament will begin on Monday, April 14 and will be 4 or 5 rounds. details can be viewed here:

Any questions feel free to PM me. We will also use this thread for any trash talking that the players want to begin with. Let the fun begin! :-D

lol I'm really sorry V. That's kinda a spoiler. coz then people would ask 'what's a X and how do I get it'. And that, surprisingly has been a well kept secret for a very long time.

Yo put your Gestapo boots away lil'. That's why we have 5 in the roster so if I never finish then someone else can play. :P

No prob SS, I'll try and reword it.

I propose an extra rule for the tournament.

Ban the use of any advantage gained from being the daily leader of a faction.

The restriction on apartments and sidekick cases is designed to level the playing field and I feel that this ban would help with that goal.

SS, no one can move on to the next round until you do finish. That's why you're playing in Round 1. A bit hard if people need to play a team on the next round if the same team hasn't finished the previous ones. :P

V Buster, that is a good point you have there, as only one person could have an advantage over others, however, I'm not so sure that it have that much affect compared to sidekick cases or apartments.

Well, I must say that Aunt Pitty just isn't herself lately. I think the rule of no cheek pinching has thrown her off her game. I'm still straggling along trying to finish this hunt.

Vbuster, great suggestion, let's see what the rest of the community thinks.

Community, post your thoughts here or PM me, please don't say what that advantage is here. Poor SS is busy enough on his VH to mod these boards! ;-) If enough people agree we will make that a rule for tourneys in the future. We feel we can't make any changes in the middle of the tourney. Sorry Auntie, that means the cheek pinching rule stays! ;-)

Yup Vbuster has a point.Being a faction head gives an advantage which can be very helpful most of the times, so I think an extra regulation must be made about this too.

Happy sleuthing:D

I Agree, but as usual I don't know what I'm talking about. I found my cat in the refrigerator the other day. Poor little thing was about frozen to death. But like I was saying I ...... oh darn, there I go again. What was I talking about? What am I agreeing to? Oh Ya, Cheek Pinching. I agree, we should have more cheek pinching in sleuth.

lilangel your point is one of the reasons that it should be banned.

The daily leader is only open to one detective per day (per faction). Apartments and sidekick cases are available to any detective. If for example every detective had an apartment how is it an unfair advantage?

I also admit that it is less of an advantage than the other two. However in general to keep being a faction leader on a hunt probably requires you to have access to Cairo as it is very hard to maintain your score while moving around.

Vbuster,
Yes apartments are open to anyone who puts the time and effort into the game. That I will agree with. Sidekicks, different story. Yes we all have people we know, but to get them to put real money up to play is a different story.

As you've seen in the first round that sidekick could have come into play. The extra case(s) is the biggest.

Apartments/faction lead is a bit different. I do asmit I played the faction lead angle so I could have that option and actually didn't need it (how sad is that for a 5 day capture). Definitely something to think about.

As it stands, we will not change the rules now as it's underway, but definitetly gives a subject for discussion. We based on Serges rules with the exception of saying aparments and sidekicks are discouraged, we said NOT allowed. Of course I cant officially track anything, I trust the players, which we will have to do with faction leads if we put the rule into place.
