I bought this skill, but the game won't tell me whether the threads I've found belong to men or women. Am I doing something wrong?

After all, one of the most fun parts of this game is experimenting...

I don't know this for sure, but I think the Smarts Equipment should come into effect even when you start the case without them. It is my practice to change to Smarts just before going to the crime scene.

Anyway, if you really want to play it safe, you can always make sure you start a case wearing Smart Equipment AND search the crime scene with them. That is safest.

I wasn't trying to "correct" you sirgarr :)
I just thought that you might not have understood max's question.

Yeah, the character I was playing before had a lot more smarts skills (he was retired due to false accusations). This one doesn't have any of the advanced skills, so I'm not sure having a smarts items will help me at this point. As I progress, I'll definately check it out.

No worrise kouraditsa, it was just that Fat Chuck's comment made me realize I shouldn't be giving answers all the time but should let people have some fun figuring stuff out for themselves.
