Townie favors

So I've been doing favors for townies pretty regularly, solving them every time, but the difficulty level of these favors don't increase. They stay at the "hard" level" -- though by now I'm solving "Stupendously hard" cases. So the rewards I've been getting from townies have been the same -- actually, the same pair of ladies' gray two-tone shoes. Someone is a re-gifter.

So... how do I get better rewards and harder favors?

Just an aside. I distinctly remember getting favours of a higher level than the actual case level I was up to. So I'd get a hard level favour when I was doing intermediate cases.

I think the difficulty of the favour cases depends on your experience. The favour level will keep increasing up till incredibly hard as David Adam says. Unfortunately the townies seem to have bought in bulk and you will get repeats of most things, the only thing to do is sell them and pocket the cash.

Thanks, everyone. It seems that I'm stuck in a warp of some sort, where my case level has been increasing but my favor level has remained dormant for several weeks now.

Just a note, David's got it right, every 10 solved favor cases will increase the level of favor difficulty.
