I would like to see a limit on the number of times the Pirates can attack you in a day. I was attacked 3 times going from Shangai to London. So now I am stuck in Shangai and I am unable to play a game that I am paying for. I subscribed to play 12 cases a day. Doesn't really seem fair that I don't get to play ANY.

I think pirates should attack once a day. OR put something in place so that not ALL of your cases are taken. Yes, I know about Hostage Negotiation but for new players trying to get other skills this is really bad.

Seems that ija is right. I remember in the beginning of the game when I was not experienced and strong (financially) enough , pirates used to be a problem for me too. It seems that after 1000000 xp they gradually desapear (or i pay no attention to them).
I travel a lot and pirates may attack me once every 10-15 trips if at all !
To be honest I can not remember the last time ! (The stronger you are the less they attack ???...who knows!)

On the other hand going with the Steepers is like taking a decision to forget the shoes ! As we all know the shoes are the only really precious thing existing in the game . Are actually the dream Sleuth fetich items.

I can imagine Stooby (and he is one of the strongest players around!) having spent 4 skill points plus a week for the favor ending bleeding in the traps and having to start all over again !

Finally having chosen the tigers (and being extremely satisfied with!), i don't wish to see the pirates even softer because then who will ever choose the Steepers again ?

Great point ans Stooby and as usual well presented. I don't necessarily think there should be a "workaround" for the pirates or even a limit on the number of times it can happen, I do however feel there should be a limit on the number of cases lost. If someone decides that they would rather have trap detection, that's all fine and well, but is it really fair to them or to new players for that matter that when trying to travel from city to city, they get hit 3 times and lose all of their cases for that day. With that hapening they basically just lost one day of the subscription that they paid for to play the game. I favor negotiations as well so it doesn't affect me anymore, but I just feel bad for people when something like this happens to them.

Espescially with a new player, if they bought a one month sub to try out the features of being subbed and experience something like this, it could very well be enough for them to decide they won't be resubbing if this is something they have to deal with.

I have a few questions of various matter but all based around everything discussed in this thread. Let me preface them by saying I know everyone is careful to not divulge all of the Shangri-La things so I'm not asking for a "tell all" with these questions, anything will be helpful.

1) In working ones way through the pyramids, is it actually by working cases?

2) How are the shoes that we all want to get our hands on affected by the 2 factions? Are these shoes achieved by doing favors of some sort?

3) Once someone picks their Shangri-La faction, how is favor gained with them?

4) Does trap detection only work in Shangri-La?

5) Someone mentioned money a little further up this thread. I always wonder if I have more money or less money on average for my xp. I know it's different for each player and that it's all based on how each person spends, etc. but to all you with high xp, what do you consider a lot of money and what do you consider not so much money for a person with over 1mill xp?

Not sure if anyone else has found this to be the case (or it could possibly always be the case, i have no idea) but it was almost like the pirates decided to target our agency altogether. Within a 3 or 4 day period there were 4 or 5 of us (Pitty and myself being two of those) that were pirated 2 or 3 times back to back and a few other agents targeted once each. It seemed to happen while we were on a good TH streak. Any thoughts?

A few answers to some (not all) of your questions, Miss:

1. No, cases are NOT involved once you actually make it to the pyramid itself. If you've made it to Shangri-la and experienced that, the pyramid is very similar.

2. The factions are not involved with looking for shoes. Yes, favors are associated with shoes in a roundabout sort of way, but saying more would be considered a spoiler, so that's all you'll get on the public boards. Sorry.

3. Again, we're venturing on spoiler territory here. I will tell you that the faction you pick will ask you to do certain things, kind of like the regular factions you find in all the other cities. It takes a while to please the Shangri-la guys, though.

4. No. Trap detection will work in any cave. Both Shangri-la and Cairo have them at the moment.

5. Errrrrn. This one's a bit of a dicey question. It all depends on what you've been doing and not doing recently. If you've had to pay off a false recently, for example, you're understandably not going to be very flush in the pockets. If your Agency expects you to contribute regularly to their safe/expenses, your bank account may be a great deal lower than others.

Personally, I get nervous when my more-experienced people walk around with less than $100k in their accounts. Again, that's PURELY me, and that's a minimum. For me, an experienced agent really begins with about 500k exp.

Hope all that helps. ;-)

And yes, I've had my group hit my a mass-pirating streak too, on more than one occasion. Some were villain hunting, some were treasure hunting, some were simply looking for contacts. Was it pure bad luck, some quirk of the system, or Ben just having a bad day and deciding to target little old Us?? At the time, I swore on a stack it was the third, each time (thank you SO much for those presents, Ben. ;-). In reality, it was prob'ly either a system quirk or simply the fact that nine people were simply doing a HUGE amount of traveling in a short period of time, and our time came up. (Still, Ben, I would so appreciate it. P'haps a few less than six agents next time, please?? It'd do my poor stressed-out heart so much good....;-)

Unfortunately the shoes (dashing collection!) do bring your skills out of balance just like a lot of items you get from the Prince. Before I was wearing them Black Dress shoes and my chances of success for surveillance on clammed up suspects were higher. I know I can swap them while in my hometown but it's a bit of a nuissance. Especially when server speed is slow.

The thing with hostage negotiation is that it will always be a handy thing. Once you got the shoes the need for trap detection is pretty much over. If you're in an agency with someone who has trap detection I'm sure things can be worked out to get shoes in a less aggrevating manner for all your team mates who opted to side with the Tea Steepers.

This being said I was never really bothered that much with pirates but I'm sure those days are bound to come around.

After the contribution of Ms Diane Russell to our discussion, I would like to offer some help for miss snopes.

Dear Miss snopes in the City Hall, you will find a link for Sleuth Community Sites.
There you will find links to some excellent Agency sites. I wish not to recomment any (some are really great!) but there you can find answers to all your current (or even future!) questions. You just have to dig a bit !

Enjoy!

Look kids. If we're going to get subtle comments through some people's posts, meant to make other people bite, then some people might as well give up posting now.

Grow up. Play the game. lol ok that sounds silly, grow up and play a game. Sheesh, but you know what I mean!
