I just started playing this game, tried an intermediate case and luckily solved it. I liked it so much I tried out the featured mystery.

What a great game, I ended up spending half of my money bribing witnesses as with not many skills my suspects clammed up quickly, but I managed to follow a hairy lead to the clever ending. I can't wait to play more.

I think the only difference for non-tough characters is the price of lock picking. The skill itself will work the same (someone correct me if I'm telling lies). And yes, it is worth it. It's a useful skill.

I may be mistaken, but I think that the archType of your char only has to do with pricing of skills. (not only for lockpicking, but all skills)
Two detectives with the same skills (and equipement) will get the same behavior from the game regardless of their archtypes. Isn't that true?

I'm sorry but I find that I have a totally different opinion on Lock Picking from other detectives. No doubt it is useful, but I think it is somewhat overrated. While it does help sometimes, it does not prove to be useful in every case. But that's just me, I guess.

It probably depends on your strategy. Mine relies on getting as many questions as possible out of the suspects and lock picking is definitely one of my key skills.

I started a new character to try different choices out. It definitely is a great skill, especially since half of my suspects would clam up on the first question without interrogation! Thanks for all the help with the basics. Happy hunting to all.

What's the most hated victim you've ever seen? As in how many suspects were there? In some of my recent cases, the victim has been so dastardly what with the forgetting of the birthdays and not giving a christmas gift to their opium dealers and sundry other slanders it's almost like they deserved to die!
