I have a question about purchasing the skills. I have 'interrogation' and now I am saving my skill points to buy 'advanced interrogation'. My question is if I have the 'advanced interrogation' skill, does that mean my 'interrogation' skill will be useless since I can do 'advanced interrogation'? And what 'good' can advanced interrogation provide me? Can it make the suspects to answer at least 5 or 10 questions more? Thank you!

For interrogation, as well as for sweet talking, you need to have the lower level skills before the higher ones. Actually, you will not be able to buy 'advanced interrogation' before you buy 'intermediate interrogation'.
I guess this answers the question about making the skill useless. You just wouldn't have the option to buy the higher level skills unless you had already purchased the lower level ones.

As for how useful it will be, there is not a constant number of questions that the suspect will answer, it is probabilistic. Advancing your interrogation skills will give you better chances, but you may still often have suspects that clam up too soon.
I don't know exact numbers, but you will 'feel' the difference.

It is never going to be on the scale of 5 or 10 questions more, though. Sorry to tell you :) Having said that, definitely useful and worth getting.
