Let me apologize in advance, to the veterens of this game, for a question I am sure has been answered many times. After a search through the meassage boards, I have not found my answer; thus I am posting here.

What is the benefit of playing a featured mystery? Are they worth more skill, money, experience? I understand that they are played slightly different, requiring more personal oberservation than strategy. I am just wondering if they are worth my time at this point. (I am still building skills and money as well as working on favors and such.)

Thank you again for your help and patience. Your answers have all been quite helpful and timely.

The short version for me is that they are more for entertainment value than anything else - cases where you actually need and want to read the text.

I think they do count towards building to a favor (although not sure) and assume you get the points for the level of the case but did not check this when I did them.

I know I was frustrated working on them as a relative beginner because I couldn't get through them.

Then, even when I thought I was a pretty hot-shot sleuth, doing my ridiculously hard cases and incredibly hard favors and all, I still found them challenging.

For two of them, I still felt I was guessing at the end, although I guess I had gotten enough info to guess correctly. Either that or I was lucky!
