You need to ask the other suspects for motives. If all your other suspects are clammed and you still haven't been able to get the motive of the guilty one, you will need to quit the case.

Unfortunately that happens on occasion. It's important to make sure all the fake alibi suspects have motives before you ask other questions or you might end up in this situation. Good luck :)

Hi there. Welcome to Sleuth. ;-)

Names of cases, lists of suspects, their characteristics, motives, etc., who's the killer, and all that kind of thing are all generated randomly by the system server. No two cases are exactly the same. Ever. We can tell you how to find something or how to do something, but we can't tell you things about a particular suspect or who the killer is on a particular case. Sorry.

We're happy to help, but there's just some things that are beyond our control. Please keep that in mind.

Each suspect will have three questions you can ask them: where they were when the crime was committed (alibi); who they think might have had a reason to kill the victim (motive); and if they've heard or seen anything suspicious about a particular suspect (witness evidence W/E).

As tres said, the motive one is the most important one, because as you're finding out, if you don't have a motive for your killer, you can't accuse him/her. It's also how you find all your suspects in a case. Next important, I would say, is the alibi question. W/E questions are sort of a last resort when the alibi ones don't work and you can't get anything matched from the townies (in my opinion, anyway).

There's a couple of places you might wanna have a look at. The tutorial (which should be located on the sign-in page, I think), the Newbie FAQ tabbed at the bottom of any page, and the Welcome Newbies thread stickied at the top of this board will all give you a great deal of info that may help you.

Again, Welcome to Sleuth. Good luck, and Happy Hunting!! ;-)
