Why do you have to suscribe to own/join an agency now? I have been working so hard saving my dollars, working toward starting an agency...and now I have to subscribe??? THAT IS CRUMMY!!!

You have always had to subscribe to own or join an agency, at least as long as I have been playing. It is not a new policy.

And the subscription rate is very reasonable.

I can see being bummed out if it came as a shock, but Ben (Sleuth Admin) is not making a profit off of this game, and you are able to do a lot for free. To do more, it is only reasonable, in my mind, to pay for the enjoyment you get and the value of Ben's work.

There are no ads, and subscribing costs when I last paid were under the cost of going to a movie. And that was for three months!

Sorry, Madam T, but I don't agree.

I'm hard pressed to think of many other things I can spend as many hours doing and enjoy as much for such a modest investment. If you take the 3 month subscription, it comes out to less than 10 cents a day.
As Moonshh points out, you can have much of the fun for free just playing the unsubscribed level, but I don't think its unreasonable (or 'crummy' as you put it) for folks who want to be more involved to help a little in subsidizing the cost of the game. I think of it as contributing to the community - and I really like this community.

Okay I'm convinced & I joined today! If for no other reason, 3 games a day isn't enough for me. This game is so addictive & fun!

Yes - this game really IS addictive (should come with a warning) Welcome to the club! Hope you enjoy this group as much as we do.

btw, you may want to shop around for an agency or try the one-week agency to get the sense of what its about - the hunts and the group support can really add to the experience.
