I love the new changes. Why is so hard to earn skill pts. though. It's like I'm only getting 1 per case. My first case tonight didn't even give 1 Skill pt. What's up with that? I likes when I could 2-3 per case. Why are you being so stinjy about the skill pts. I really need them to get more skills.

It happened like that to me too (about 30 days ago). The more experience points you get, the harder it is to gain skill points. I assume that you are doing easy cases. You should be doing intermediate or hard cases. If you have spent your skill points wisely, and know enough about the game, you should be able to solve hard cases easily with the amount of experience points you have.

I have been solving intermediate cases (about 3 in a row) and have not earned 1 pt. yet. I seemed to be able to get them easier before also. Any suggestions?

Jadecraft, since you are a smart and charming detective, I would suggest loosing the black trench coat. Replace it with something that will enhance your charm as you have already supported your smart skills quite well with your equipment. If you have the proper skills for your character (charming and smart) this should increase your success when questioning suspects and witnesses, thus allowing you to successfully complete the hard level cases.

Madame TBird, again to solve the harder level cases, one must be able to encourage the witnesses and suspects to speak with them. Did you recently purchase the umbrella, perhaps replacing something that increased your toughness? This could effect they answers you are getting. A very tough detective has absolutely no use for items or skills that increase his/her charm. This was a hard learned lesson for myself, and I am still attempting to make up for lost time.

Once you are properly equipt, the next level of play should be solveable and you should see the reward of skill points regularly again.

Although it is good to use those skill points wisely. The better you get, the slower they come.

And then, if you play long enough, you have more than you know what to do with....trust me.

Delvin has a nice addendum thread on the "newbie" board on this subject. He explained the skills/equipment aspect of the game more effectivly, and accurately. I may have gotten a bit carried away. My apologies.
