In order to try to make a contribution to the improvement of Sleuth Noir, I have decided to give away 5 "prices" of 1 month gift subscription to 5 different sleuths that already have or during the next period will come with the best suggestion(s) to improve Sleuth Noir on one or more following areas:
* Doing something to improve the game-speed
* Getting more people to subscribe to Sleuth Noir
* Making Sleuth Noir more fun to play
* Something else the judges approve of

So, it's time to open that creative vein of yours, and come with suggestions and post them on this board. It's no part in the judging whether the suggestion will be implemented into Sleuth Noir or not, as this is for Sleuth Admin to decide. In my eyes, it doesn't even have to be your idea originally.

Even though I haven't asked them, I had hoped that a jury of
Jojo, Stooby, Roamie, Secret Squirrel and Lady Jas would voulenteer to search out the most worthy. I would be happy if you made a reply to this posting saying whether you accept or not. Please decide among those of you accepting the task how you would like to organize. You all seem to be active on the boards, and I do trust that you will be fair. You are also free to "adjust" the important topics, but I have put down my suggestions, and what I would like to encourage. Also, decide for how long the "competition" will last. Preferably less than a month.

I myself don't have the capacity to search out and find the good recievers of a gift subscription, that's the reason why I humbly ask those mentioned to join forces and help me with the task. I would guess (but may be wrong) that the "recivers" are less than 100 days old, as the older might already have long lasting subscriptions, and one additional month would be as a drop in the sea. Also, I think that the jury themself cannot be among the "recivers".

I hope that when the jury have made their decicion, they will post it here and send me a PM with the name of the selected winners

Closers would be glad to help out a new player/subscriber get a taste of agency life.

We are not an agency that is active in treasure hunting, but if roleplaying is your thing or you just want to see what a more laid back agency is like feel free to PM myself or Treschaude for an invite. We typically have one or more spots open to rotate people in and out of the place.

Add the Closers to the list of agencies I would be happy to send a newly gift subscribed sleuth to.
I am not looking for someone that need to be treasure hunting, but someone who are experienced enough to be of support to someone new, and especially are there. So, I had a look at you, and I could see that most of the members of Closers had been logged in today or yesterday.
I think that if you join an agency first time, it would be nice to find someone there. Joining quiet houses, where noone seem to be at home are not so inspiring.
I was hoping that such new subscribers both could be a help to the agencies, and that the agencies could help the new subscribers to find the fun of Sleuth, and thus wanting to continue to subscribe :-)

OK, well the next test then is to get these people to read the boards.

I have spoken to a couple that amazingly never have.

Due to your time limitations Huglover, would you have any objections to me messaging them or would you prefer to do the honours.

Just a quick question, On your original post it said 5 free subs, then on your post of the 11th it sais 4?

It is now 12.02, 22nd , over the pond so am sending my two free subscriptions to:

I'm Severa Evans, I was third in the list mai capone got from the Admin.
I'd love to try a free subscription, in fact I was thinking of subscribing sooner or later.
I haven't had contacts with any of the agencies Huglover named upthread, but I'd love to join one. I thnik contributing to an agency's success, and thus meeting "colleagues" and make new friends is the best thing about subscribing!
4 cases per day was fine with me, although it would be good to have 12 and I'd love to be able to try scripted mysteries and travel around and everything else.
Also this looks like a very fun community and although I read the boards I've never posted because I felt I needed a subsription for that (most of the discussion is about stuff for very experienced sleuths so I felt shy of contributing anything).

Anyone want me in their agency? ;-)

Let me first be honest. The idea I started with have changed with time. Mostly thanks to Mai Capome who have done a great job.

When I said 5, I meant 5. The reason why I mentioned 4 some time ago, was that I thought that the Hannah something with the ocean liner idea would like the 5. I asked her to send me a message, telling she was interested, but the message never came. So, I guess I can conclude that even though I would be happy to give her a gift subscription because of her idea, she did not take the effort needed (send me a PM) to collect it.

I would be very happy if the directors of agencies that would like to hire, would be the ones sending out the "promotion" messages. May be something like:

- do you want a one month free subscription and join (your agency name) - then read further.
On the message board right now are an option to "win" a one month free subscription. You are among those who qualify.
What you need to do are read the post: (some reference to this post)
Make a reply there saying you are interested, and tell you would like the one month free subscription, and would like to join (your agency name)....

Even though I sometimes write a lot, I am not that good at treating people and making contacts. Maybe also because I want it that way. And, I would like to use most of my energy on the game, rather than hunting people ;-)

When it comes to Severa Evans, I'll send you a gift subscription within half an hour. Also I am very thankful to be able to congratulate you for being the first winner of my "free subscription contest".

Then I hope that all you agencies that I have mentioned and who still are hiring would send her a message or an invite, and most important warmly welcoming her.

My time-limit of the 25. or something I set was mainly because I did not want to have something I had promised last "forever" without anything happening. Right now I am even considering raising the number from 5, if you all let me succeed ;-)

Eye Spy would also be glad to help in any way possible. We have several experienced detectives who enjoy helping newer detectives and we also actively take part in TH's for those who want to try them out for the first time.

I have no problem with adding Eye Spy to the list of good agencies :-)
Seems like the problem are to convince those active unsubbs to want to recieve the "price" on the conditions. (i.e. making the reply)
I know I have reached the count 6 agencies right now, but if you all find one of the candidates to "go for it", I have no problem with giving out 5 more "prices". :-)

I notice Closers captured Severa Evans, and I am happy about that. It made me happy to finally be able to hand out at least one price.

I look forward to being able to hand out more prices, but that means someone must do the job of "getting their candidate".

As there seem to be some movement in this "contest", I have decided to prolong my time-limit to the end of the month, may be even longer, depending on the developement of this "contest". ;-)

Eye Spy, I can vouch for them, fantastic group of people. They have helped me from the first day I got here and I think Ive progressed quite well.

I am at the Untouchables Huglover, and would feel abit guilty for accepting one of the new comers.

I feel that the other agencies should have their choices first. (Gosh sorry new comers for making that sound cattle marketish), If there are more newcomers than agencies applying and someone needs a home, then I will gladly provide that for them.
