the only piece of evidence i have points to a person with a real alibi. now what do i do?

Don't worry, it happens. You just have to find the murderer by witness evidence:

Talk to other service people (bartender, fortune teller, priest, etc.) and see if any of the other suspects think they know who it is. They start asking suspects and start eliminating people.

It's more time consuming, and you have the potential of the suspects clamming up, but it's really the only thing left to you right now. Good luck!
