Apartment purchase - which city?

I've been thinking of purchasing an apartment, and was wondering if any non-newbies have some advice for me.

For example, should I buy one in a city where my agency is, or does it make more sense in a different city?

If I buy a studio now, because it's all I can afford, can I upgrade later? If so, are there disadvantages to that -- should I just wait for a two bedroom?

Anything else I should know? I did search, but didn't see anything about this. Thanks!

Can you only have 1 apartment or can you have 1 in each city?

I guess have the best of both worlds..

Just one apartment, sadly.

LOL Stooby, you're right about the storage. I started thinking about this because the lab coat I was storing in my agency equipment locker was taken, and how could they know I was using it on every case?

I gave serious consideration to purchasing an apartment in my problem city, London, so I could store a tough suit and some smart gear to be able to deal with problems there better. But I too ended up going with my home city, because I wanted to have a message board that I could play around with, and also store gear that overflowed from my Agency.

I'd say the decision truly lies with where your priorities are, what kind of things you're planning on doing with the apartment, that sort of stuff. Yes, they can be expanded, and yes, they can be moved to different cities, but it takes a very large chunk of change to do either one. My vote is to make your mind up with what you want to have for a fairly long period of time, then build up for that goal if you need to.

Hope all that helps. ;-)
