What is a Consigliere?
I asked for an audience for Dona of La Cosa Nostra, and saw "Consigliere" and a users name. What does this mean?

Thanks!

It's the person who is on top of the standings for that order. Every day you can do a 'little job' for a faction. Like La Cosa Nostra. IF you are successful witht he little job this increases your faction points. As do the cases you take on that have faction standing attached to them (they are the cases where the lady with the magnifying glass appears). Anyway attaining the top Faction Standing gives you the right to be called...

at the moment...

Philosopher Marshall of the Order of Socrates - shadowblack
Dies Arcanum Brotherhood Mother Inquisitor - topkebab
La Cosa Nostra Consigliere - Jack Spike
Eastern Triads Golden Dragon - j sandford
Guardian Sister of the Green Hand - Dory VIII
Universal Aspirant to the Circle of Light - Sean King

These heads of factions 'might' change every day as everyone's faction standings (above 10) decrease by a (kind of) set amount every day. This is to make it possible for anyone to be Faction leader on a given day.

There is also a small bonus for being Faction Leader. Which we don't talk about. The best kept secret in Sleuthville. And may it always remain so.

There's lots more about Factions... just type in Faction into the search function. You'll have information overload by the time you're finished.

Happy Sleuthing and Buon Natale.

So I was wondering what this well kept secret was, and so I did my little jobs and worked hard and now I have from what I can tell the highest faction standing with La Cosa Nostra (32). The current Consigliere has 31. How come it doesn't change and I become the new one? Do I have to wait for something or do something special? I really wanted to find out the secret. :(

From what I understand, you are the faction leader for a whole day.

At turnover, whomever has the highest standing with each faction becomes the leader. If someone else gets a point or more above the current head during the course of the Sleuth day, they won't get to be head until the next turnover, IF after turnover they still have enough points to be highest standing.

(refer to Squirrel's above post close to the end about faction standings decreasing a set amount each day)

Ah yes. It was the "have to wait for turnover" part I didn't know about, which made things confusing. I was informed about that in chat earlier. Thanks for the answer though.
