Hello All-
I am a relative newbie and I have literally spent the last 3 hours trying to read through threads so please forgive me if this has been proposed already. I appreciate all comments.

Also, I hope this is in the right forum....

If/when a detective finds a bloody footprint, you can determine if it's male or female blood using a simple blood test while you are in the field. If you can already determine it came from a heavy or slender person (Advanced Footprint Analysis) , one more test is all you would need to do.

I know this game takes place in the 1920's-1940's, so genetic testing was available--even if it was in it's infancy.

You can make a pregnancy test (or something like it) purchasable with some skill points under the "Smarts" category.

Another idea I have is to have weapons as a part of the crime scene. In other words, the killer left in a rush/panic and left a bloody knife. You can then lift the bloody fingerprint and, like the handwriting analysis, determine if the person was a righty or a lefty. You would leave a heavier print on a murder weapon with your dominant hand. You can also add ropes and then the sleuth will have to figure out if the killer tried to cover up by making it look like a suicide. This would be a great twist especially in the case of a really neat crime scene (the experienced killer) or if the body was moved.

Since detectives can purchase guns from certain factions, I think, they can be added as murder weapons too because I think sleuths during that time could test for GSR.

SERGES!!! Nice to see you back!! ;-D

I think it'd be really neat to see a couple more cities here on Sleuth. I know there's those out there who have a 'what's the point' view about that, but I, for one, like traveling, and it'd be nice to have a couple new cities to explore, wherever they might be.

Not entirely sure I understand what you're gettin' at with the mass murders and the Minneapolis thing, Johnboy. I suspect there'd be huge programming issues when you deal with more than one murder (ie. - case) at a time. Perhaps you could expand a bit for those of us who're somewhat slow on the uptake, as it were? ;-)

Meh...I vote for no more US cities. It's a big ole world out there - why should one country be represented twice?

I'd love to see something in South America, which is not yet represented. And how about Australia? Also not yet part of the Sleuth world.

There was a lotta espionage and intrigue going on in South America during this time period.

Good point about the whole programming thing and whatnot Breitkat, i hadn't thought of. At that point in the day i was tired and sore from running around playing hockey and whatnot and not really thinking. Although i do find it to be fascinating. I don't really think that the mass murder would really require much more than a normal case. It would just have multiple victims, one crime scene. You would have to prioritize (Spelling anyone?) your victims for clues. It would be difficult to find a clue leading to a specific killer because you would have threads from so many people, or a lot of footprints, etc... It would be quite the challenge, and i think it would be fun to do. But you're right, it would be a programming nightmare.

As to South America, that sounds delightful!

Ah, okay, now I get it!! That's an interesting idea. There's been some discussion about having an ultra-difficult, above Almost Impossible type of case that the most experienced detectives among us who are bored with solving the same ol' AI's day-in, day-out would be up for. Perhaps this might fit into that kind of scenario....;-)

Treschaude: I am aware of that method. It leaves something to be desired however because it seriously messes up the logbook for the agency secretary.
That is, it looks as if one person put in a lot of money and the person who is away put in none. If you are being nitpicky and trying to find out if someone is not paying any fees, Something I did try once, the secretary will be about as useful as pork roast.

And as for more cites. I say BRING EM ON! Especially if they can bring a theme that is different from the ones we currently have. I do not have a problem with our current themes I just want diversity.

I think Cairo needs to be developed a bit more first. Make it like all the other cities. Right now it is just a stopping place to get some new shoes.

Ahhh... wasn't thinking about that! Good point. You are talking to a girl who doesn't even balance her own checkbook though. Money's there or it's not. Was just thinking - get money to safe fast! :)

I saw mention of this again somewhere and it reminded me that I really did like that cruise ship idea. Would be nice to solve some mysteries on a ship with completly different townies, no contacts, etc. And if you wanted to quit, maybe you'd have to jump in a lifeboat and paddle back home :)

I've been thinking about new content for Cairo for a long time. The fact that Ben and Sunny's agency is the only one left in Cairo speaks for itself. It seems such a waste! Everything's already there: the townies, the possibility of having agencies, even an option of breaking into the bank vault.

Maybe, for the start, we could have two different kinds of AV hunts: four-city hunts for the detectives who still can't (or don't want to) to go to Cairo, and five-city hunts for those who can. With a special prize, of course.

Also there could be one-man treasure hunts in Cairo, and the object of these missions could be recovering lost (or kidnapped) pets. This is an old idea, I don't remember whose, but definitely a pet idea of mine :). Think of all the cats, dogs, parrots and even ponies we could save! Personally, I'd prefer treasure hunts for small agencies, but much had been said on the subject in the past and I don't think that's likely to happen.

Whilst I like the idea of new cities, (I think I'd like to see another major European City of the era, since Europe was where it was all happenin') it'd be nice to fully utilize what we have first. So yeah Cairo is underdone and could at least do with opening up Treasure Hunts there and Villain Hunts too (so you might get any 4 of the 5 cities).

That 'ship' Treschaude isn't too far away... I think. (hmm how long IS a piece of string)
