Hello All-
I am a relative newbie and I have literally spent the last 3 hours trying to read through threads so please forgive me if this has been proposed already. I appreciate all comments.

Also, I hope this is in the right forum....

If/when a detective finds a bloody footprint, you can determine if it's male or female blood using a simple blood test while you are in the field. If you can already determine it came from a heavy or slender person (Advanced Footprint Analysis) , one more test is all you would need to do.

I know this game takes place in the 1920's-1940's, so genetic testing was available--even if it was in it's infancy.

You can make a pregnancy test (or something like it) purchasable with some skill points under the "Smarts" category.

Another idea I have is to have weapons as a part of the crime scene. In other words, the killer left in a rush/panic and left a bloody knife. You can then lift the bloody fingerprint and, like the handwriting analysis, determine if the person was a righty or a lefty. You would leave a heavier print on a murder weapon with your dominant hand. You can also add ropes and then the sleuth will have to figure out if the killer tried to cover up by making it look like a suicide. This would be a great twist especially in the case of a really neat crime scene (the experienced killer) or if the body was moved.

Since detectives can purchase guns from certain factions, I think, they can be added as murder weapons too because I think sleuths during that time could test for GSR.

as far as SOM goes it could cut down on the time it takes to get from place to place. (I bet Ben was already thinking along those lines though)

Guns for toughness, though I believe we have that already. Jewelry for charm. hmmmm already got that....

I know, we'll put a garage in our apartments if we buy a car for them. The car raises status points which are obviously good for something right?

Though something I would like to see is the ability to wire money from a field office to the safe. Not take money out or see how much there is, just to send it in.

Also, unfortunately, Chicago is the city that the AVL uses. So I'm not sure how likely it is to be used here as well. There's other global cities that might work. Any preferences? ;-)

Seriously, something West Coast would be good, or maybe up in Canada. How about Winnipeg?

Oh Christ, not Winterpeg. It's so cold there even the thongs are made of polar fleece.

Do you know a guy named Ron? Does he have two toes?

To-ron-to.

Jordan - Thanks for the complement on the avatar :) We posted at almost the same time so I didn't see the new ideas when I commented. Don't be talking about magic brownies unless you brought enough for everyone!

Dave - there is a round about way to get money into the safe from a different city. You have to trust your fellow agency members though ;-) Just transfer funds to a detective at home and then have them put it in the safe. Not terribly efficient, but will do in a pinch.

A new city would be a lot of fun. Doesn't matter where. I'd even go to Cleveland! My secret hope is that Ben has some new ideas for Noir up his sleeve for about the same time as SoM comes out so we'll have to play both. Feed the addiction.

I think that the East Coast is pretty much set with New York. It was pretty much the center of America during the time period. A Midwest city just wasn't accesible enough in that time period either. Commercial Aviation wasn't really going back then if i remember correctly. Although Chicago was interesting. What we need is another major port. I would like it to be another North American one though.

Ok this is my third time trying to post this. I have a serious issue with this posting thing and it is being mean...(Wow i'm mad at an inanimate object). Anyway i changed my mind about Midwest cities.

Minneapolis would totally work.

I have written the main points too many times and i'm tired of it now (Sorry guys) but i think that it would be a great city. Read this wikipage, well you don't have to, but i think it would really fill in what i'm talking about http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Minneapolis,_Minnesota

Minneapolis was the gem of the Midwest in the '20's-'40's. Achieving things like the Foshay Tower, The first Basilica in the US (In 1929) St. Mary's Basilica, Mill Capital of the World, Political influences and Cultrual Achievements and influences. Civil achievements and whatnot. All of this in the correct time period.

But what i'm really excited about is the potential to introduce Mass Murders to sleuth (I know that makes me sound morbid, but really it is interesting). With all the mills in Minneapolis...one spark could kill all of the workers due to the dust in the air (No lie folks, this could work). I don't know why Sleuth hasn't used Mass Murders before. It would be difficult to pull off without drawing attention to yourself and getting caught, and i feel the mills give the murderer a way to pull it off easily and still leave us with enough to track him by. Anyway those are my thoughts...

This wasn't nearly as good as the two rants i wrote before this, but somehow those didn't get posted...
