Faction Boss little job points

I have noticed that when I do a little job for the faction boss my points the next day have decreased...not going back the past few weeks but just recently(yesterday) I had 41 points with La Cosa Nostra..today I come online and it was decreased to 36..5 points removed...

I PM Ben who stated it was to give the other players a chance to be faction boss for a day...however, when this happens I lose out and so far my name has not appeared as faction boss...but I feel it is totally unfair to take the time to accumulate these points just to have a large number taken away...

Has anyone else had this problem with what Ben is doing and what was your solution...

would appreciate any advice on this matter...should I write to Ben again...it is becoming extremely frustrating at this point..

Hey there...

Everyone loses points daily. You have to keep doing your little jobs every day to combat this. In addition, you may need to do those cases of yours that help your standing, and quit those that decrease your standing if you really want to be faction head.

It's definitely a fair thing to have your standing drop, and I know it's frustrating. But if no one's standings dropped, you would never be able to get faction head, because those of us who have been around longer would be impossible to beat.

Does being a faction boss gain you anything apart from having your name appear?

I was once the faction boss for the DAB and I got to unclam any suspect in any case any amount of times. So, I guess thats a yes, but I'm not so sure......

What Rock Josie said is not actually correct.

The info is considered spoiler info though, so yes, you DO get something else besides your name in yellow ;) but cant say what it is.

It snowed here today, so I can write my name in yellow anytime I want...

To perhaps make the original question a little more specific, why such a big drop once a Sleuth makes it over 40 faction points with an organization? Five points a day means a sleuth is losing more than can be made up by doing the daily little jobs. I wouldn't mind so much if the drop was four, but dropping five means I have to get lucky with cases going faction positive or negative in order to make up the lost ground.

People lose more points, the higher up their faction points go. As you get higher and higher up in points, you'll lose more points at turnover each day, and consequently need to make them up. There've been reports of losses up to 7 points a day. Unfortunately, unsubbed people are at somewhat of a disadvantage, cause they may not have the cases to be able to rebuild their lost points with. And yeah, it's not real good news to people trying to earn the Faction Head Titles, but everyone has to deal with it, whether we like it or not. Sorry.

Other than high points with the faction, what else does it take to be the lead? For the past couple days I have had more points than the current leads with the Eastern Triad, however I guess this other mystery requirement is still not met, and I am working hard to be the lead.

You need to be in front at the end of the day, just before day change, midnight Sleuth server time. It's bassed totaly on faction standing points but it doesn't work if you get ahead at midday but by midnight you are behind.
