Well I don't know if I would consider this a good story or not,but my first Thanksgiving of my marriage I was supposed to make the turkey for my husbands side of the family.I had been cleaning for days and I had bought the turkey and stuck it in our old fridge(it was my Grandma's and was old).Well the day started by my going to the fridge to get the turkey and the turkey was completely solid the fridge had been so cold it kept it frozen. The fridge was kept out on the porch.I guess it was just cold enough out there that it made the fridge colder and I was so busy cleaning that I didn't check it.Well when the family showed up I was still trying to defrost it.I didn't have the money at the time to go and try and find another one. After that day I make sure that I check the turkey way before to make sure it is defrosting.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Turkey thawing tip, I've had that happen several years. Put the turkey under COLD running water and that will speed up the thawing process quite a bit. Just make sure it's cold water and not hot. If you use hot water you will begin to cook the turkey!

"Happy Thanksgiving," everyone. Well, I'm right proud of myself. I baked my first pumpkin pies, and they turned out wonderful. I couldn't wait yesterday to eat a piece, so I ate a slice. Actually, I done a taste test just in case. See, Texan and I have been invited to join our friends for Thanksgiving, and I ate a slice just in case I kicked the bucket, my friends would be spared, ha!

I hope everyone has a wonderful day celebrating with family and friends.

Your friend, DaRu, aka Deb
