I'm a newbie who has just saved up to 7 points and bought the stress detection skill. However, on my next case, I found that I was unable to use that skill and checked my detective. The skill was not listed under my skills and my 7 points were gone.

Is it because there's a number of skills a non-subscriber can learn?

(and I'm meant to be an editor.. sheesh! and now in something bordering on English... )

OK well Stress Detection is very low on your list of priorities a newbie anyway.

But you can't 'use' it per se. Its not clickable. It's a skill that happens automatically and works every time you visit a suspect. You get italicised text at the bottom of the suspect interview page that says for example:

"Horace appeared to be under a lot of stress and I was sure he wouldn't answer any more questions without some kind of persuasion."

If it has gone gone gone and doesn't appear on your list of skills, and you don't have the 7 skill points anymore, I suggest a PM to Sleuth Admin:

Ben can check this I think.

you earn skill points when you solve cases. you learn skills when you have sufficient enough skill points to buy them. You do this in your detective tab and learn skills. I hope that helps.

Happy Sleuthing.
