Okay, I was solving a mystery, I talked to the one suspect I had at the start, and she gave me the name of someone, and I talked to them, but they wouldnt give me any more names, and I went back, and she was dead, so I had one suspect who would not talk so I had to accuse that suspect, which of course was wrong. I'm not sure if that was supposed to happen, so, can someone give me some help on that? Thanks.

Sometimes you get stonewalled right at the start, and just have to quit - which (you learned the hard way) is better than getting an expensive false accusation on your record. I think Ben justs sets a few of the suspects at a quick clam no matter how much charm etc you have - to keep it 'interesting'. I've had my first suspect clam on my first question on a favor - end case, and that's w/ pretty high charm test. It happens.
