False accusation confusion

I just had a strange case where I had a F/A with 8 witnesses on Incredibly hard favor. I'd narrowed it down to two possible suspects, and was certain who the killer was.

Now, considering the formula is that there is always two witnesses with evidence, I thought I'd caught my killer. I was wrong. The guy whom I'd ruled out by deduction was guilty.

I questioned the 8 witnesses and got this result:

6 not guilties, plus the suspect himself makes 7, and one clam. Now surely that meant that with no two accusations against this guy I was free and clear.

Spencer - aruna ng
Aruna - spencer ng
Violet - spencer ng, aruna clam
Lian -spencer ng, aruna ng
Marcel-spencer ng , aruna ng
Prudence-spencer ng, aruna ng
Landry-spencer ng, aruna clam
Radcliffe-spencer clam, aruna clam

How is it possible that he is guilty? I take meticulous notes, and when there are two suspects, always focus on one suspect first to help me deduce who is guilty.

What did I do wrong, or am I missing here?

Zoriah your fisrt mistake is there always 5 people in an Incredibly hard favor who have false/none alibi's. To rule 1 out you can use reacher leaving 4.

The only way to be sure it is none of the 4 is to check the pysical evidence (PE) agains them. You can not use witness evidence (WE) alone.

The only real time you can be sure someone is guility is if you have PE or WE against someone with a flase/none alibi.

There are ways of deducing but for that you need to at least know the number of people you will get in a case with a flase/none alibi. Without more information on how you ruled out the 6 I don't know if you know this.

Okay, I use Dr Watsons sleuth helper, so I had all the fake alibis and all the real alibis confirmed. I had consulted with the Fortune teller and knew that I had all my suspects on the table. I had managed to narrow it down to two suspects using the physical evidence. But the townspeople had clammed so that I could not pin the PE evidence for sure between my two final candidates. Usual story of having two note and two footprint evidence. No one died, no one ran away.

It was down to Spencer and Aruna. I just had to speak to the witnesses to narrow it down further. If the formula for the game is that every case has to have two accusations against the suspect, then how can Spencer be guilty? If you look above, I only got clammed on Spencer once, all other witnesses said there was no suspicion and since he would never accuse himself...doesn't logic dictate that he's not the murder?

Oh, and I used research as well. :)

The only real possibility here is that you accidentaly clicked on the one above or below Spencer one time when you asked and you just didn't notice.

I've lost questions that way with PE townies.

I can understand my clicking the wrong link, but not noticing the witness speaking a different name than Spencer in their answer to my question? I don't know. Oh well. Had to pay off Shady. I guess I'll be ultra ultra vigilant now, especially on favors. No biggie really, just irked me to no end.

I don't use helpers, I think they discourage the vigilance, it's mroe fun and challenging to not and as I say, you tend to automaticly double check things.

Yeah, that would work for most.

As for me, I use Pigeots automatic sleuth helper because it keeps the information accurate.

Without it I tend to assemble the wrong information. I've got a touch of dyslexia and I sometimes read man when it really says woman. Also some of my S's sometimes looks like C's which messes up my curly and straight hairs.

I almost always stop to double check who I'm accusing though because the small white letter on red background are so hard to read!

I would agree it's more challenging without the sleuth helpers, but I found manual note taking not so fun, so for me the Dr Watson one works because I still have to be careful to enter the data correctly, and it helps me to see patterns visually. Just the way my mind works. ;)

One thing I love is the fact that you can always go back check the case page and make sure you have all the evidence/details straight so that you don't waste a click on a witness.

Another thing is the fact that it's possible to have 9 suspects on an IH case/favor.

Just putting in my 2 cents in.

True, which is why I always pay the fortune teller to make sure I have all the suspects.

In this instance it was a matter of me having two final suspects and eliminating the person who should have been guilty, since only one WE was possible against him when there should always be two WE's per case for the guilty person.
