Subscribing a 2nd detective: Coupons?

This game rocks, and is very addictive. Forgive me if this is covered elsewhere but I did do a search of the message database and FAQ's and don't think I found my answer so...

Do these sidekick discount coupons work for those of us who are thinking about subscribing a second detective, in addition to their current one? I have a subbed tough/smart gal, and have a few unsubbed detectives to play around with that are more charm/smart based. I am seriously thinking about subbing one of them to get more cases.

I'm curious though as to whether I can use one of my coupons to help with the additional cost of the new subbed detective, or if I can use a coupon sent to me from a fellow agency detective? It wasn't clear to me what is meant by 'first subscription only' since obviously we all need to keep renewing our subscriptions and I presumed that the coupons are not usable for that function. Does subbing a new detective while still playing your current one still count as a 'first subscription' for that character?

Am I sorry out of luck?

You can't give a sidekick coupon to yourself.

Thanks, that clears up part of my question. So I guess that my Zoriah coupons apply to the player, not the character.

Can I use one from someone else though if I already have one subbed detective and am starting another?

I believe the sidekick coupon applies to a person's first detective for their first subscription only. Sorry. :-/

If your main detective is subed and you have a second that has never been subed then you can use a sidekick coupon to sub them. The big advantage other then the lower sub cost is the extra case you get.

Thanks Stooby for the clarification. That's exactly what I was wondering about.

But you can't have the same IP adress for the subed detective and the new detective.

(Discovered that when I tried to give a sidekick coupon to my wife. It was a bit annoying, but we got that coupon from somebody else in the end. So it was okay)

My 2nd detective had the same IP address so what went wrong there? Simple solution would be to log onto a differesnt computer. Or get someone who trusts you to sub and pay them back.

Are you sure it was the IP address and not the same E-mail address Dave?

Definetly not the same e-mail address. We have separate emails and separate computers.
It still wouldn't accept Daves coupons.

But I did use the same computer, different E-mail address.
