Just want to share some info with all of you, this post is for awareness rather than solicitation.
In 1998 my mother was diagnosed with a rare liver disease called PBC (primary billiary cirrhosis). At least we thought it was rare at the time.
There is no known cure for the disease at this time, my family has been doing a fund raiser on a yearly basis to raise money for research, this year we will hit the $100,000 mark.
What PBC does is slowly destroys the bile ducts of the liver. And it can be difficult to diagnose. Doctors told my mother for the first year that she was simply going through menopause.
For more info please visit http://pbcers.org/
Catching it early can help as there are many medications that can slow it down.
Thanks for reading

It's a fund raiser that as far as I know is native to the Cleveland area but has spread out to the some other areas of the country recently. It's called a reverse raffle and it is exactly what it sounds like. 200 tickets sold and we pull the tickets out of the drum one by one, the last reamining ticket wins. Then there are things called sideboards, that is the same exact thing but the ticket price is much cheaper.
Thanks for the thoughts

That's cool, but confusing.
The only reason I asked was because I'm part of a rotary club for minors and we have to get up some fundraising ideas and so far we have $0.00! We were thinking of have a raffle or an auction.
Hope your mom gets better soon and anyone else with this.
