I left New York after I've done 3 cases.
I arrived to London and wanted to start with a favour, but they didn't have anything for me at the time.

I thought maybe 3 favours IN THIS city....so I've checked if I can do a favour after each case....but still nothing.

Up to now I have done 7 cases without a favour...what's up with that?

(Chuckle) Okay, believe what you will. I've read the rules too. I also know that the system doesn't always choose to follow the rules all the time.

I really don't see what the big deal is about checking to see if you've got a favor after you solve a case. But then again, that's just me. ;-)

JUST to confuse matters..

You can get a favour after two cases :).. sort of...

If you do three cases without quitting or getting a FA and you don't travel, you will get a favour.

If you do four cases without quitting or getting a FA and you don't travel, you will get a favour AND it will only take two cases to get your next favour as the fourth case counts toward the NEXT favour.

If you do five cases without quitting or getting a FA and you don't travel, you will get a favour AND it will only take one case to get your next favour as the fourth and fifth case counts toward the NEXT favour.

If you do six If you do three cases without quitting or getting a FA and you don't travel, you will get a favour HOWEVER you will have to do three more favours to get your NEXT favour as the third, fourth and fifth case CANCEL the NEXT favor.

IF you are careful, this can work favours for travel too.

Let's say you're on a multi-city hunt and you have 4 cases left and need to go somewhere that costs 3 cases.
You just did a favor so you know that you need to do three cases to gain your next favor SO you look in the case files and there are two cases there.

You do those cases (that's two towards the next favor) and you travel.
That leaves one case. You do that case and you should get a favour.

Anyhow, I hope that is clear as mud and you all enjoy your day.

I know about the multi city hunt, do 2 favours before you go so you only have to do 1 when you get there. But to clarify your point are you saying 4 do a favour, do 4 standard cases, do a favour and then the 1 extra case you did is banked against your next run meaning you only need to do 2? If true is this perhaps where the additional confusion comes from? I personaly cant see and advantage doing it this way, may as wel do your favours after every 3 cases...

So basically if you've manage to loose count somewhere and you happen to do 4 cases before your favour. Then you shouldn't cry over that 4th case, because it is still counted?

Sounds like lenient game rules to me.

Not that I'm complaining or anything. It is a good thing.

Ah, I think you're right Stooby.

And I don't see why you would do it like that. That would be silly.
BUT if at the end of the day you do favor, case, case, case then gain your favour but want to hold it, but you still have two cases left you can do those and then do the favour when you need it knowing after it, you'll only have to do one case for a favour.
Or if you just can't be bothered doing a favour (are there really people like that? ;) ) you can do a couple more cases, I guess.

ALSO, knowing this can help you plan in Multi City Hunts for Travel.

But if there is no advantage to you knowing, it's not a big deal :) It's just a good thing to clear up with some people.

Dave: Yep, it's a pretty good system :) but you need to be careful because the 6th case you do in a row will cancel out the next favour meaning you have to do three more.

On a side note, I have a feeling that when people are doing AVH where they're doing cases and travelling all the time and NOT doing favours is actually screwing up the favour count and I think that is why some people are finding they're doing 6 of 7 cases before they get a favour after a hunt.
I do not know this, this is just speculation. :)

But really this is all you have to know:

When do you get a favor?
After 4 correctly finished cases: either 1 favor + 3 normal cases, or 4 normal cases.

So, after 4 wins you get a favour.

And it's a good rule of thumb to check if you have a favour in the city you're about to disembark from before leaving ;)

Sorry to confuse everyone even furthur with my previous post about favour counts, it is actually simple. I'll go away now!
