Also, if you don't have enough money, you will not get the option to bribe. Can't squeeze blood out of a turnip as the old saying goes.

Yes, the barber and banker are always a problem. I've come to expect that from them, but last night it was everybody except my two contacts. They'd clam up and there would be no option to bend the rules or anything. Very strange. I tried a case just now and it didn't happen, so hopefully it was just one bad night. I was just wondering if that's something that's a result of getting more experience points, or if it was just a mishap.

Thanks for the tip on the adjustments. I'd been wondering just how important that really is.

Also, Rule Bending only works on townies. Do you have Sweet Talking for the suspects?

Yes, I do have sweet talking for the suspects. So far I have intermediate sweet talking and am working on getting enough skill points for advanced. It just seems like the ridiculously hard cases were working out pretty well for a few days and then suddenly everyone started clamming up much sooner.

Contacts are these really really cool people around town who never mistake the letter T for the letter K, and in addition to all that coolness, will make it easier for you to solve cases because they will never clam up on you. Check out the newbie FAQ, which you'll find by scrolling to the bottom of the very screen before you! Little gray letters! How very handy!

There's a whole section there that deals with contacts.

Unless you were looking for lenses. In which case you're gonna have to sleep with an ophthalmologist, or a camera, or something. That'll be a Kodak moment, for real.
