Accusing suspects

Could someone tell me what combinations of witness, fake/no alibi and evidence is needed to be sure of a correct accusation? Ie. If I have a fake/no alibi and physical evidence, can I be sure or do I need a witness also? Does this change as you get to more difficult cases? Also, I didn't see this in the 'Help' section, but maybe it should be there.

You will always have a motive, every suspect has one. You need to get a fake or no alibi, physical evidence and witness evidence to be sure you have the right person.I have had a person with fake alibi and physical evidence be wrong

I agree on the one physical and fake alibi (including "none") confirms the killer. you can bank on that.

Or two witnesses plus fake alibi.

But - absent the alibi, you need BOTH witnesses. Physical evidence plus one witness (without confirming fake alibi) is not enough.

Also, it is possible for even careful sleuths to make mistakes on rare occasions, esp. when brain is shutting down. So you will 'remember for sure' something, but when I've asked Ben to check, ooops. It wasn't a bug after all. ;-)

I think what happened to Declan, is that you could not check for an alibi, which you thought meant you had NO alibi. If you could not check for an alibi, you simply don't know if there is one or not.

This game is the same for everybody. And I would be VERY surprised that just for you it is different.

But you can disagree, no problem. I just know I am right, I have played enough games to know so. :)

I am not saying that I disagree with anybody, and according to Arne I was wrong anyway. I'm terribly sorry that I stuck by my word when it turned out to be wrong. And I never once said that the game was only different for me, I just thought that maybe there was bug in the case that I had...apparently not. And no one can say that there haven't been certain problems with certain peoples cases in the past, making my thought of a small glitch possible.

And for the record, I know the difference between a fake alibi and not having an alibi at all.

No probs Declan, there is no need to be sorry. I can understand about being convinced about something.

The reason why I may have sound a bit aggressive, because it is newbie advise, and this would affect their entire game. I pretty much solve 95% of my cases with the fake/no alibi with evidence rule. Hence why...

Could be a glitch, I don't know how long ago this was. And frankly if I would get the glitch now, I'd be pissy. So I hope you are not right, it would cost me a bundle.

jstkdn...In the last couple of days since we started talking about this, I have been accusing suspects using just a fake/no alibi and evidence and I haven't had a problem. Now that I think about it, it was probably just an error on my part when I falsely accused that suspect before.

I understand completely about throwing newbies onto the wrong track, but on the other hand, what I had said isn't really gonna hurt them. If anything, it would just help them out. I am glad, however, that you guys have pointed out my mistakes, so as to make things easier for sleuths that are just starting out.

Sorry, once again (I know you said there is no need to be sorry), for making things difficult for those who are just learning.
