XP and case levels -- how does it factor in?

I understand that you can't play beginner mysteries after you hit the 200-XP mark, but do you ever lose your ability to play easy cases and so on?

No, beginner cases are the only ones you loose access to.
You can continue to play easy cases forever if you choose.
Favors top out at the Incredibly Hard level also by the way.
