Once a suspect or townie clam up they will not answer anymore questions. If you can not solve the case then your options are to quit it with no penalty. Or guess and risk a false accusation. If you get three false accusations, your detective gets retired. Or you can pay a whole lot of money to get the falses cleared. So the best thing to do is quit.
To avoid this in the future, make sure you use your questions wisely. Only question the (banker, tailor, shoemaker, barber) about people with fake / none of your business alibis. That way you are not wasting questions about people with real alibis who can not possibly be guilty.

You could try getting Witness Evidence statements against the suspects with False/No Alibis in the future, but this is generally the harder route to take. Like Arabella said, your best option is to quit this case and try again. Good luck with the next one!! ;-)
(Remember, even the REAAAAALLLY experienced guys have to quit cases too. You're doing just fine. ;-)
