Detective Note books - an idea

Every now and then i come across information on the message boards i want to refer to again (and again).
What i have done is send the information to myself in a Sleuth Mail PM, which i can then save.
This got me thinking a "Detective's Notebook" would be a great idea: it might be accessed through the Detective tab, allows players to type information in and save it, and can only be seen by the owning player.
I have sent information to myself like the WE and PE equasion, what in game abbreviations mean, plus other information i have found valuable in the forums.

I just copy any info into window's notepad or word and keep a Sleuth file on my computer. Has the extra advantage of no further strain on the Sleuth servers :-)

But then again it can only be accessed from that computer.

Hey Patric
I think having a notes section is a brillant idea and it shouldn't be too hard to implenment as a part of Sleuth Mail!
I remember Ben or someone saying once that Message Boards don't really take up any server space or something so I don't see the problem.
I think it's a great idea that would be really helpful to some people!
(cfm, you beautiful lady, you can store all those useful links you find there ;) )

thanks for the replies - they are all valid comments.
One way to save a strain on the server could be to sort out the retired detectives that havent been used for more than a year maybe?
I agree with Armitage in that you have to be on the computer you have set the notepad up in. A lot of internet cafes don't let people use their own discs on their computers.

I would like to see a way of removing old detectives that aren't being used. Especially ones you've made yourself. I don't like making a mess and would appreciate an opportunity to clean up after myself.

Don't blame you, Shankage Mcnamechange; if I changed my junk as often as you do, I'd be interested in a moist towelette too. Or a really flattering diaper. One of those diapers with that form-fitting ultra-comfy sansibelt waistband. And the buy-one-get-one-free Girls of Nascar pin up posters.
Vroom!
When I'm not staring at posters, one thing I do to make sure i have current links is to just copy the relevant message and post it on my bio. That way, it doesn't matter what computer I look at it from.

Except for being able to clean up my discarded ideas I also like wiping myself after doing number two and I sit down often even when doing number one to avoid unnecessary sprinkling and prostate cancer. I also like soap and water to wash my hands after I'm done at the can. I like doing dishes and cleaning up at home. I enjoy long walks in the woods and cosy evenings at home. Send a reply to..
Um.. ignore the part after "cleaning up at home".
Personally I prefer using the bio window for writing my bio. ;P But using sleuthmail to save text is a good idea. But if the game won't suffer from a separate feature for saving text I can't see the harm in it.
