Alibis - always true????

I just failed to solve a crime based on the person actually doing the crime having an alibi that was true.

Is this normal, or just a glitch?

Hi Patric. If you mean that the suspects always tell you the truth about their alibis, that's pretty much true. They don't deliberately lie about their alibis. If they say they were at the Bar, you need to go check with the Bartender to find out if they really WERE at the bar. Only the townspeople can say for sure if a suspect was where they say they were.

At the same time, you will NEVER find a guilty suspect who has a verified real alibi. You will also NEVER find a guilty suspect who turns up dead or the researched suspect (found at the Hall of Records).

A guilty suspect will ALWAYS have a fake alibi/"Not that it's any of your business, but I don't have an alibi (also called a No alibi), and will match up with ONE piece of physical evidence, and will have TWO witness evidence statements against him.

There are some basic formulas you can follow:

FA/NA + PE = Guilty
FA/NA + WE = Guilty
WE + WE = Guilty

A person with a False Alibi and a piece of matched Physical Evidence
(FA + PE) DOES NOT EQUAL guilty.

In which case i came across a glych - i have a confirmed alibi and it turned out the person with that firm alibi did the crime :-(

If the alibi was false, then you'll need to submit a bug report. You'll find it on the City Hall page.

A confirmed alibi of what? FAKE/NONE alibi or REAL alibi?

It was a real confirmed alibi - i will report it as suggested.

I ended up paying Shady to take it off my record - seeing as i am at a low level i figured it would be cheep enough to get it done now rather than pay a lot of $ later :-)

It's the same price to buy Shady off if you have 1 or 2, so you should wait until you have 2.

The price keeps going up with each case you solve. So I always paid them off as soon as I got one. However, I have one now that I got thanks to the names in Shangai (I'm not bitter, really) and I'm not paying that off because its around $2 million to pay it off.
