Intimidation or Intermediate Interrogation?

Hi, I've just started a detective with the Tough and Charming archetype. I've gotten all my Charming skills (except for the faction skills), so I'm considering adding some tough skills. I've got some skill points to spend and I was wondering if anyone had some recommendations whether I should spend them on Intimidation or Intermediate Interrogation? I'm currently working on RRH cases and was wondering if I should expect to have tougher time with suspects or townies clamming as I move forward.

Thanks very much!

First at only 3000 experience, I have to question if you have all the charm skills. Do you have advanced Sweet Talking and Advanced Rule bending?

Also, before you go for the other set of interview skills I would advise you to make sure you have the basic hair and thread analysis. With out those you will not find all the physical evidence at the crime scene. Then you should look at getting research, lock picking and flirting. The ability or need to switch between interview techniques is not needed until later in the game.

If you are determined to get tough interview skills, make sure you have the basic of both, suspect and townie, first so go for Intimidation over intermediate interrogation. But again, I would not worry about the tough interview skills and switching between the two, until much later in the game.

Thanks Arabella, I have both sweet talking and advanced rule bending. I ended up going with thread analysis so that I can flirt with the Tailor. I've been sinking all of my skills points into Charming skills, which is why I already have so many. Thanks for your helpful advice!

P.S. I love the Myrna pic!

Also before you go dealing with going after your tough skills, one other you should invest in is Judge of Character. This skill will let you know which set of skills, tough or charming, will help you the most in a given situation.

Like Arabella said, by the time you've gotten your smart skills (at least the basic ones, but the advanced ones would be adviseable too), lock-picking (NOT to be confused with pick-pocketing), research, flirting, and JOC, it'll be quite a while before you're ready to deal with getting the tough skills.

Good luck, and happy hunting!! ;-)

Breit - fyi - tough and charming detectives are born with judge of character. :) No need to purchase it. They get to switch off if they want to from the get go. I thought that was the whole point. When I first started, I thought everyone had it! I was amazed to learn that some people had no idea what it looked like from the other side.
