I am returning to Sleuth after a couple of years and I see some things have changed. There are new cities and factions. Somethings I'm a bit confused about. I'm sure there are threads on here somewhere, but haven't found any.
What is the benefit of renting an apartment? Can you store things there when you travel?
What are the books all about?
How do you join Arch Villian Searches? I know I don't have enough experiance yet, but would like to do some later?
I can't remember how to join a treasure search, is it through the factions?
Did Rasputin's Egg ever become a useful item or is it still negative everything?

It depends on what you decorate your apartment, but yes you can store items there.
What are the books all about?
They are a fun addition where you get to read a story and it gives you a slight boost in experience, useful for beginning characters in that regard.
How do you join Arch Villian Searches? I know I don't have enough experience yet, but would like to do some later?
You have to be able to solve AI cases and find your way to Shangri-La.

Yes, you have to have at least 10 points with a faction to open a treasure hunt with them.

Yes it can be useful but I won't spoil the fun for you!

Thanks. I always wondered if that darn egg would finally have a use other than to sell after completing a incredibly hard favor.
The apartments were just a crazy idea someone had (don't remember who) when I played before, glad to see they materialized.
