I just can't believe that Hagrid or Mrs. Weasley didn't die. I thought one of them was a goner for sure.

Just to throw my two pennies worth in and not that it means more or less than anyone else’s comments but here goes.

Nothing wrong with the book other than an overly long “What are we going to do now” bit in the tent!

It would have been an awful book if there had been no deaths and I like the deaths of main characters in built up and off hand ways. Added to the sense of climax and also to the atmosphere of a war zone where people do just show up dead and no-one knows who did anything.

The epilogue was essential. JKR has always said this was a 7 book series and the 19 years later I think and I hope killed off her going back on that. Any more books about Harry Potter would be sentimental and pointless. Leave the rest to imagination, always the strong point of JKR’s books.

I don’t think she’s snubbing writing more books because she’s rich and don’t begrudge her being rich off of writing a wonderful story (with yes a few dodgy books along the way). I think she was being true to herself and not dragging Harry Potter to death with a series of “what happened next” novels. I think we can all take our own guess and be happy in the knowledge that we’ll never be proved wrong.

@ Katherine Gumshoe: I didn't know that Colin died. @.@

Well anyways my little thoughts about the book:

I've read it three times, and found it quite interesting. I found the book also to be a little sad (all the deaths!), but I thought that JKR should definitely have put more efforts into the Lupin and Tonks death. I mean, they are certainly extremely important characters. I didn't really feel for Fred's death until I was playout the OOTP Wii Game, where I was watching stuff about James and Oliver Phelps. XP

And I have to say, JKR could have definitely thought of better names. I mean Hermione's a sweet name, I'm sure she could of thought better. I mean, what's with AlbusSeverus? And Rose and Hugo are just plain "old fashioned." I also thought it interesting that both couples had more than 2 or more children, because only Ron out of the Trio had siblings. Nor do a lot of Hogwarts students have siblings.

I officially love Professor Mcgonagall. <3 But anyways, I really wish the story had more of the "Hogwarts" feeling. I thought the book was extremely good, but after I went back reading all those lovely stories about Hogwarts, I realized I loved all those Quidditch matches, and all those classes. And Professor Umbridge's Detentions. ~ checks if I have missed anything ~
