Evidence points to a man?

I currently have a case where both evidence is a thread from a man's clothes. Does that mean that the killer has to be a man, and all of the woman suspects can be ruled out? It is my understanding that at least one of the evidence always belongs to the killer. If this is true, then in my case, no matter which thread belongs to the killer, he will be male.

This will be true, but only if you can be sure that you've found all the evidence (i.e. you've got Hair Analysis as well as Thread Analysis).

Yes, I have hair and thread analysis, so I'm certain I have everything.
