This thread is for ideas, suggestions, proposals, etc. NO idea is too silly to mention :) although some might be too impractical to implement.

As possibilities become probabilities, I will create another thread for the Con itself and concrete facts/decisions/information.

People have been inundated with messages for days, feeling that someone else should organize now, and not always be up to the same people. Hence is why biggie brought it up.

That being said, I'd also like to add that while the whole first sleuth con was going on a lot of people were talking about next years and also about taking turns on people hosting it as well as where it should be hosted.

Everyone wants this community to work together, and with rotations of organizers for sleuth con, this is a great way to start.

lol, and no one threatened me to quit... read it again, please... I was the one who threatened to quit and I was summarily hauled back into it, not unwillingly tho.

There will be change and variety. :D Lots of it. I intend to use and abuse people in the process of getting this organized. And there will be lots of ideas to sort through.

I'm sure whoever hosts/plans it will do a great job. If Rhiemma wants to do it again, the power to her. But the opportunity to do so should be shared too, right?

I just don't think its really fair to everyone. This event is for anyone to attend, how much planning has gone into this already without anyone's knowledge or the input of a few people?

I assure you, event planning isn't easy to do but there a lot of people who have done it before aside from last years organizers. I think others should be given the chance to organize this as well.

I used to be in an internet group, where we organized this with committees. One group did the city and date voting. The other the welcome pack (the stack of papers, where people needed be at, general info's, cell numbers.) Another group did events. Etc.

Then again, though that community was much smaller then this one (about 300 people), during those yearly get togethers did turn out about 30-60 people. I think it was largely because the date and event selection had such careful consideration.

The lead organizer was someone different each year. Reason why was, to make sure that everyone got their shot. We were a pretty democratic bunch. A lot of "meetings"....zzzz. :)

Sounds fair enough Jas and Biggie.

If there is a team out there that wants to plan and organize go for it. Put together a proposal, get all the details (time, place, funding, etc) together and then present to the community.

I have told Rhie that I will do even more for this next event, so it will be good to have the community see two separate proposals and then choose which one to implement.

Everyone knows it was Rhie and What'syourname that did most of the work and planning on Sleuth Con I with my help and support.

Jas who is on your team? Should people send suggestions to you and Biggie?

Would it be possible to hold two separate Sleuth Cons simultaneously? One Mid West and One West Coast? That way we don't have to play Sleuth: Civil War?
