Ok, I am in really good with the Don, but want to switch factions.. what is the quickest way, any advice... Of course I stopped doing favors. Should I also make sure to drop cases that they want me to win? Any other suggestions?

1. Obviously, stop playing the questions and answers game.
2. Your points with a faction, will automatically go down every day, if you don't gain points (ie. do nothing), it goes down to 10, no further.
3. Stop playing games that gain points that makes you acquire points with the faction that you are in now, and want to leave.
4. Win the games that gain points on the faction you want to go to.

What I mean under 3 and 4 is. If you are now on Socrates, and want to go to dies.

Stop playing the games that say something like:
1. Socrates will be happy that you solve this matter.

Play games that say:
1. SOcrates will not be so happy.
2. Dies will be very happy if you solve this case.

As you are not subbed, you may not want to loose the cases and the money. I would quit playing the questions and answers game. Let yourself automatically go down to 10. Then stop playing the cases that makes you win points on the faction you want to leave.

Thanks.. this is what I figured :).. It seems the Dies is mostly TOUGH gear.. are the other factions gears to Smart and Charm? If so which is which?

? I thought cosa was tough gear. Socrates sells mostly smart gear. I think you're getting Cosa confused with Dies. Jstkdn, didn't she say she was on Cosa, not Socrates? Maybe you're getting her confused with me. I'M switching from Socrates to Dies. I'm getting dementia at 12-*sigh*. What were we talking about?

Since my ramblings probably didn't make sense to you, I am temporarily sane now.
Socrates sells good smarts gear, but on the other hand its good for charming as well since it sells the Expensive Perfume which gives -1 smart, +5 charm and -1 tough, and also has the hypnosis skill which is a charming skill.
Dies has the pickpocketing skill which is a tough skill-I think. You already know what comes from Cosa. Hope that made more sense to you.

You need to have a certain amount of points to learn the special skills. Also, whether you standing is Fair, Good or Great, the special items cost different amounts. As for which is the best to be with, it depends on many factors. You will probably want to go with the one which sells equipment relevant to your archtype and has special skills you want. Also, if you are in an agency, its good to have an even number of peeople on each faction, as that is where you open the treasure hunts, and then you will have more chance of getting a head start on a hunt when members with that faction are more likely to be on.

Everybody has great equipment. For tough a tommy gun is great to play with (only 8000 if you are great in Cosa), for smart shortwave radio wrist watch. Both are for sale with cosa.
It has safe cracking, which is only handy if you are in an agency.

Socrates, has very expensive perfume. Which is the best equipment you can buy for charming.
You can get hypnotism. If you want to have more suspects.

Dies, has this.

MCN, I don't think I said I was on Cosa, or Dies. I have have been in all three of them. I am just trying to help the poor folks in here, as to what is best for them...not for me. :)

[Buy] [Info] Grey Umbrella $2000 + 2%
[Buy] [Info] Exquisite Monocle $4000 + 2% + 1%
[Buy] [Info] Shriveled Monkey Paw $8000 + 3% -2% + 1%
[Buy] [Info] Silver Handled Cane $12000 -2% + 5%
[Buy] [Info] Deringer Pistol $14000 + 3% + 2%

Note prices are if you are on great. In addition to that it has pickpocketing, which allows you to get the money off the client if he is the murderer.

So anjm, if it is about equipment go to Cosa. Since you still have to get most skills, I think this is the best switch.

For River, I suggest Dies. The silver handed cane gives you +5 charming, and it gives you pickpocketing.

Perhaps I should be more clear on my copy and paste:
Umbrella, +2 charming.
Monocle, +2 smarts, +1charm
Paw, -2 smarts, +3 tough, +1 charming
Cane, -2 tough, +5 charm
Pistol, +3 tough, +2 charm
