ok, i have enough points to learn the skill, but they need 12 skill points. Is it better to get the hypnotism skill, or should i get my other skills first, like advanced ____!!

I have done just fine without hypnotism so far, although I plan on getting it eventually.

Sweet Talking and Rule Bending skills for the charmers, or Interrogation and Intimidation Skills for the tough guys out there, are most important I think, in keeping people from clamming up on you.

Then I would say all the evidence skills are useful so you find everything you can at the scene and know more about the things you do find, so as to narrow your questions.

However, research is VERY helpful, as it allows you to eliminate one suspect with a fake alibi.

Lock picking is also good, as it helps to cut down on the questions you have to ask your suspects. Not as important as research in my book, however.
