Ok, I am considering buying a shortwave watch
I have 30pts from the Don..
Shortwave Radio Wristwatch $14000 -1% + 5% -1%
I am smart/Charm archtype so it would reduce my charming archtype.. so it is an interesting trade off.. I would trade in my Exquisite Monocle which is +2 smart +1 charm, so in esence I would be gaining 3 smarts and loosing 2 charming..

If you aren't/can't join an agency, but you need more smart points, then buy it! If you are low on money/are at 2 false accusations, don't buy it!
That's what I would do.

I think smarts gear helps most when searching a crime scene (and when using the crime lab in an agency). Otherwise I don't bother with it, even with my "smart" character. Tough guys seem to make it through the tough cases with just toughness gear fine and dandy after searching the scene with smarts gear, and my charming self gets through just fine with only charming gear after searching the scene. So being in an agency to borrow the smarts gear from the locker is helpful. Remembering to put it back is the hard part! lol...)

I have NO false accusations and have over $20,000
Are there BETTER options in other factions that I should just wait till my alligence changes?

well, every faction has got its stuff, (or so i´ve been told) but what i would do is try to get in the three factions and get its good stuff from every faction, but the problem is that your like the best friend with the order of socrates and want to be best friend with the cosa nostra, that would take forever...lol
