1.Assuming no smart gear, if a detective has adv.hair/thread analysis, are the chances of successfully identifying specific evidence higher for a smart/very smart detective?

2.Doing my last case for the day(really hard=rh), I received no skill pts. Now I'm thinking that I must move up in difficulty. If I remember correctly, rh cases had 7-8 suspects. Now I would like to ask if the no. of suspects in rrh/ih cases have increased? (9-10 I guess?)

By the way, it really makes me laugh to "sweet talk" a male suspect. I didn't realize this until I was READING each skill and I was regretting that I learned interrogate (I had charming gear).

You'll find that from now on, you prob'ly won't be getting a skill point every case like you have been. As Ran said, as you get more and more advanced, the skill points come less and less often. Veteran (meaning extremely advanced) detectives generally earn a skill point only for every 50,000 exp. points or so.

As for how many suspects are in a particular level of case, there are several helper tools that people have put together that list how many suspects you can expect to find in a typical case for a certain level. Both really really hard and incredibly hard cases USUALLY have 8-9 suspects total, with five false alibis. The difference between the two levels lies in the number of pieces of evidence. RRH's will have up to 3 pieces. Inc. Hards will have up to 4.

Hope that helps a little! ;-)

Note: The Naomi Wang helper has some mistakes in the info about number of suspects. The Watson Helper is currently correct (till Ben will change it again).

I would like a suggestion. I am unable to decide whether to go for Footprint analysis or Reasearch skill. Which would be better to choose first?

Research

Everyone should have research as one of the first skills. It eliminates one of the suspects for you.

Thank you. One more case and I'll be able to get research as a skill.
