I've read somewhere on the boards the books give a tad amount of exp. for the detective though I can't seem to find it (tried search and newbie faq).
Do books give anything else other than exp.? And is it also worth it(strategically) buying one from the store? Or can you acquire one as a reward/favor?

Thanks for the answers.

Actually Sophie has it wrong on the XP.

If you get an invite to someone's apartment (only for subbscribed detectives) you can read someone's library there and earn the XP for each of the books.

It can be a good thing to try that for new players as the XP is enough to earn a skill point or two the easy way.

OOps also forgot to add that try searching the message boards and newbie boards for sleuth books....and if your still unsure kyomi of what the books are, I suggest you scroll up and read some of the posts on this particular thread, as the do tell you what the books are and what they do.

So much for fast clicking haha! ;)

The books in the Library are a favour to return over due books. The librarian will send you off ONA MISSION to retrieve the book, in return for money. However, it's not worth travelling specifically, as the trip will probally cost you more than the funds that are given for your time and effort.

And if anyone wants to see a spoiler about where the books can be found (and I urge you not to look if ou want to find out for yourself) then go to the Ona Mission website, go to library sections and you see a link the "Slueth Books". It's a full (I think) list and as I say, don't look unless you realy want to know!
