Uh oh....back up! You need physical evidence AND an accusation for the same person,

OR physical evidence AND false/no alibi

"seen leaving crime scene" can be fake by itself - although two witness accusations will do, one by itself will not!

Does the footprint person have an alibi that is verifiable?

ok...the footprint was from the shoemaker, and he says it belongs to one of the suspects, whereas, the suspect that saw the person "leaving the crime scene" has a real alibi, and i can't ask anymore since everyone clammed up!! what do i do, i never had this type of problem before!! is this how it is in the hard cases????

The question is does the person /seen/ leaving the crime scene have a false or no alibi - not the person talking about it.

Same thing with the Shoemaker - we trust the Shoemaker to give true information, but that person could have left a footprint at the scene and still not be the killer. So does the person who left the footprint have a false or no alibi?

In this case, you need to discover that the person who left the footprint has no alibi, OR find another person who also accuses the person "seen leaving the crime scene."

Make sense?
