The location: Theodore Roosevelt Theater, south New York. Constructed fifteen years ago as a memorial to the late, former president. Was supposed to be the grandest theater this side of Broadway, but has deteriorated due to a high crime rate in the area. Private eyes are in short supply, yet budding actors and actresses are not. Here, they will be forced to either get to the root of the murders.... or become the next victims.

The crowd roared, a flurry of hands clapping and flowers being tossed at the stage. The audience's enthusiasm almost made up for the paucity of actual theatergoers. Rose looked up from her bows, beaming and waving at the audience. As the curtains closed and she hurried backstage, she grabbed the prop knife she had used minutes before and stuck it in her belt. An actual dagger could quickly become a danger to herself, but a fake one ought to scare off any muggers awaiting her outside. "Hey, Gypsy! Great show tonight! You look just wonderful!" Rose turned around warily, but upon seeing that it was only a castmate- one of those chorus girls always sucking up to everybody- she replied with a shaky "Oh, thanks, you too!". She debated warning her about walking around unarmed... but then, what were to happen if she ended up on the other end of the hypothetical knife? She shuddered at the thought, and stepped outside into the alleyway.
