So, it has come to this. Was an inevitability, but sad nonetheless. As you may have noticed, there is a shiny, new code of conduct for Sleuth that has about as much charm as a bed of nails. Some of you may be thinking that it is about time this came about, and I see your point. However, since Ben and I are not robot admins or removed and unfeeling drones, I will share with you why I feel the necessary posting of the code comes touched with melancholy for me.

The best way to explain this is to give you a real life analogy. I work for a non-profit organization that does many good works including running a heavily used food bank. This food bank serves mainly seniors and families who have a hard time making ends meet and depend on the nutrition the food bank administers. Well, over the holidays this food bank was robbed and vandalized by persons unknown. The bank was prepared to give a little extra to clients on New Year’s Day to start the year off in an auspicious way, so the shelves and freezer were fully stocked with much needed food. All this was taken, most likely for resell.

I know, you’re thinking who would commit such a terrible act? I can’t answer this question, but I can tell you that my organization had to make a tough decision to change the security for the food bank. This meant finding the funds to erect a big, ugly fence complete with barbed wire around the premises of the bank. Although there was a fence before, it was not this imposing and beefy. This is because the bank is meant to be a place for those who are most in need to come and find relief. Something about an eight-foot barbed fence does not send out that safe, relief feeling. Anyway, do you see what I’m getting at?

To be perfectly honest, as a veteran of many online games, Sleuth so far has the best behaved community, hence reinforcing my decision to support it all the more by subscribing. =)
Well said on the code of conduct.

PS: I hate what happened Sunny. I'm happy that things worked out in the end.
