Hello Luis,

First, for future reference, don't spam every single board with multiple threads. Be PATIENT. The editors and admins can only come so quickly to answer intro questions.

And to answer your question, now that you have (not) been patient...

Yes, to make the Client's name show up, put [ClientFirstName]. That will make the client's first name show. There is a complete list of these tags at the bottom.

You can also look at the work of some other people to get an idea of how it works.

Mr. Ortega,

The intro is meant to introduce the case. It sets up the murder victim, the client, and at least 1 suspect. Those names are randomly generated with each new case. Also, the intros are randomly chosen when the case is generated.

If you want to name your characters specifically, you may want to try writing a Featured Mystery. There, you are required to name your own characters.

However, if you want to start smaller with an intro, which is a great place to start, and you want to use names you have created, you will have to re-write it so those characters are on the outskirts of the story, meaning, not the client, not the deceased, and none of the suspects.

Keep an eye out for an intro written by Ms. Chelsea Bando. She wrote an intro with actual detectives named who play this game. If I remember correctly, those detectives were added as participants in trying to apprehend the guilty one with Ms. Bando taking on the case at the end. (My apologies if I don't remember it correctly, Ms. Bando, but I remember enjoying it.)

Good luck.
